Enjoy Thai Festival “Phra Nakhon Khiri Muang Phet” While Your Stay At Thailand

Thailand is not only rich with its natural locations but also with its culture and festivals. If you are planning your tripto Thailand then coming in April month would be beneficial as there are many festivals are going to be celebrated in this month, Thai government and River Kwai Resorts are especially prepared for these festivals as they are expecting more tourists in this season.

Currently, there is a festivals going on named “Phra Nakhon Khiri Muang Phet”. Phra Nakhon Khiri is a palace built by King Chomklao in 1859. This palace was designed by architect Chao Phaya Sri Suriyawong.

Phra Nakhon Khiri is a widely visited tourist attraction of Phetchaburi, it is an important name in Thailand’s history because of its culture value and natural beauty. In 1935 Thai government registered it as a historical place and in 1979 declared it as a national museum of the monument type.

From 26 years this annual fair is being celebrated at Phra Nakhon Khiri or Khao Wang hill. Festival has combined itself with the Phetchaburi Red Cross Fair for the public and tourists to participate in the activities.

This festival ceremony includes worshiping the city pillar shrine/the ancestral kings, exhibition to honor the ancestral kings, the performances of Department of Fine Arts, a parade to honor the kings and the Phetchaburi way of life.

You can enjoy central stage performance which is a contest of sweet Phetchaburi beauties, demonstration of foods and local sweets, ox chariot racing, decoration of lights and fire works on Khao Wang each night. This makes this palace more beautiful and adorable.
